Abstract:Improving the digitization level of public cultural services is an important task of China’s national cultural digitization strategy. Currently, there are bottlenecks and pain points in the digitization of public culture in China’s cultural institutions, such as poor data circulation and insufficient integration. The key to solving these issues lies in the effective integration of public digital cultural resources. Japan Search, launched in 2020, is a dedicated cultural search engine built by the Japanese government at the national level. It is a typical example that promotes the integration of public cultural digital resources. Japan Search aims to achieve multi-source isomeric resource integration between collection institutions and Japan Search through data connection institutions in various fields and regions. Users can obtain and use metadata through Japan Search, enabling the effective recycling of public cultural digital data. The exploration and practice of Japan Search in top-level design, data integration, and mechanism construction can provide references for the integration of resources in China’s public cultural digitization construction, promoting the realization of “cultural digitization achievements shared by the people”.
