Abstract:With the complexity of the economic environment and the dynamics of the organizational environment, the leaders’ management behaviors at the top of the organization can hardly get more recognition, and the leadership style needs to be adjusted and changed urgently. As a result, humble leadership has been proposed as a new “bottom-up” leadership style, which has gradually gained more attention and research from scholars. In this paper, through the inquiry and organization of the relevant literature on humble leadership, the connotation, dimension, and measurement of humble leadership are firstly systematically sorted out. Secondly, we compare humble leadership with other “bottom-up” leadership theories, such as servant leadership, sincere leadership, transformational leadership, and charismatic leadership, analyze the similarities and differences of similar leadership theories, and then analyze the current status of the research on humble leadership from the three levels of organization, team, and employee. Finally, the research on humble leadership is reviewed and prospected in order to bring some insights for future research and practice of humble leadership.
