Abstract:The arrival of the post-truth era has highlighted the importance of emotion in the political field. “Emotion” has become a new type of political tool, “absorbed” by different subjects for strategic and instrumental use. The political “absorption” of emotion is divided into mainstream political emotion “absorption” represented by the government and nonmainstream political emotion “absorption” represented by society. The government’s “absorption” of mainstream political emotions aims to promote the effect of political communication, strengthen political community identification, optimize political and social governance, and promote political and social stability through emotional “absorption”. The society’s “absorption” of non-mainstream political emotions aims to achieve the purpose of gathering public opinion, creating public opinion, and benefiting oneself through the mobilization and strategic use of emotional factors. The political “absorption” of emotion is the power game between political subjects and social subjects in the field of emotion, and it is also a symbol of the weaponization, instrumentalization and strategic use of emotion. High intensity and inappropriate emotional rendering and emotional competition also easily bring risks such as political emotional polarization and political power differentiation. The corresponding risk regulation should be carried out by optimizing social emotional governance, establishing emotional regulations, and strengthening the emotional literacy of media and the public.
