Abstract:Since the beginning of the “green turn” in China’s social work, the thinking on ecological val_x0002_ue and green social work theory has mainly drawn on Western ideas. Based on the local ideological resources, this paper explores the ecological values of Taoism from four aspects including the ontological foundation, the historical generation, the dissemination of reality, and the practical path of ecological values. This paper discusses its intrinsic connection with ecological civilization, to establish the ethical basis for the development of social work in China. It also puts forward the basic logic for the development of green social work in China from three aspects: the value standpoint of a “life-destiny” community, the intervention line based on the ontology of “nature-human-socialist society”, and the practical strategy based on the axis of “cognition-action”.
