Abstract:The complexity and continuous impact of population flow on Chinese society requires us to pay attention not only to the floating population, but also to the children of the floating population, namely the “sec_x0002_ond generation of the floating population”. Existing studies have put forward some concepts similar to the “second generation of floating population”, and conducted empirical studies on intergenerational relations, physical and mental health, educational status, career development, social integration and other aspects from the perspective of intergenerational transmission. However, none of these studies conducted a systematic investigation directly on the overall picture of this group, did not give the group portrait and general characteristics of the second generation of floating population, and did not discuss the social events and life course that affected the development of the second generation of floating population. In view of this, this study proposes to focus on the life course of the second generation of floating population, to focus on the health risks in the life course of the second generation of floating population, to focus on the new occupational development of the second generation of floating population in the digital field, to focus on the family issues of the second generation of floating population under the background of structural change of population, to focus on the social integration of the second generation of floating population in the new era and new situation, to focus on the policy protection of the second generation of floating population in the context of new urbanization, and to think about the overall framework and development path of the research on the second generation of floating population.
