Abstract:Based on the panel data of 9 countries in Southeast Asia from 2000 to 2017,this paper analyzed the impact of tourism development, human capital and foreign direct investment on their economic growth by using the Cobb-Douglas production function to construct a new economic growth model. The results show that tourism development and human capital play a significantly boosting role in the economic growth in Southeast Asia, while the role of foreign direct investment in the economic growth needs to consider the factors such as investment quality, the internal environment of the host countries and so on.The measures taken by Southeast Asian countries to develop tourism, improve human capital levels, and attract high-quality foreign direct investment to promote economic growth through existing resources are of reference to China.
