Abstract:Under the paradox of“Innovative Compensation”and“Compliance Cost”, this paper put forward that there are different effects for multiple environmental regulation types. On the basis of the stochastic frontier function, the study measured the green economy efficiency of China’s provincial panel data from 2000 to 2016. Plus, the spatial spillover effect of different environmental regulation types was estimated under the geographic and economic weight matrix. The study found that the influence degree of environmental regulation on green economy efficiency was in a descending order followed by administrative type, market type and public participation type in turn; The indirect effect based on geographical or economic links was dramatically higher than its direct impact; Differing from the other two types of environmental regulations which had a positive direct and spillover effects on green economy efficiency based on both geographical and economical links, administrative regulation had a positive spillover effect on geographically adjacent areas, while the spatial spillover effect on areas with very different economies was significantly negative.
