Abstract:A sudden increase of Chinese new words rightly reflects the rapid development of Chinese society and economy. Ever since its declaration of opening up policy, China has undergone great changes in social, political, economic and cultural aspects. Along with these changes appears a tremendous batch of new words as a result of translation or coinage. This paper explores and analyzes the impact of English language on Chinese with regard to new words and expressions in the last 40 years, and highlights the inclusive development of the Chinese language.
