Carrying out the strategy of countryside revitalization is our party’s strategic decision on the issue of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, which set new requirements for the agriculture-related reports in the new era. Taking the agriculture-related reports of People’s Daily from November 1, 2017 to October 31, 2018 as the research sample, it is found that agriculture-related reports keep innovating in terms of topics and discourse such as emphasizing rural economic development, focusing on agricultural transition and rural modernization, the importance attached to the construction of rural culture, mirroring the rural social civilization really, objectively and comprehensively, as well as the modernization of rural management, and promoting rigorous, harmonious and ordered rural construction by a benevolent way, meanwhile, there are some deficiencies existing in the current agriculture-related reports such as imbalanced proportion of the reports related to economic development and ecological construction, marginal groups becoming the subject shaded by the reports, and the reports are presented in a single form, and so on. Based on that, it is held that future agriculture-related reports should emphasize its overall and constructive perspective, should balance the five connotation issues of Countryside Revitalization Strategy, thoroughly serve the rural revitalization strategy, comprehensively report the people and things in the countryside so that the interactive communication relationship between urban and rural areas is constructed, and keep the constructive agriculture-related reports so as to help solve the dilemma of rural development.
