Abstract:Old hospice care social work services in China continue to expand its service scope and depth at the same time, but also face the insufficiency in culture, policy, resources, and ability, especially the problem of shortage of core competence. In elderly hospice care services, the core competence is embodied in three dimensions of social workers such as value, knowledge and skills, including a total of 11 aspects such as cultural sensitivities, peaceful death, three-dimensional care, jersey, function to maintain life, faith release, case management, death education, crisis intervention, recalling the past, and spiritual care. According to the basic frame of the talent cultivation and development of social work, the core competence for the elderly hospice care can be promoted and tamped respectively by professional education, vocational education and social policy.
