Based on the general conception of leadership, we have proposed an operational definition of academic supervisor leadership, and developed its measurement (ASLS: Academic Supervisor Leadership Scale). The result of an exploratory factor analysis on 181 pilot disclosed academic supervisor leadership was constructed by four factors such as empowering, considering, developing and motivating. The result of a confirmatory factor analysis on 677 survey samples confirmed that ASLS had satisfactory reliability and validity.
