Judge Dee Mysteries was published in the late 1940s. Based on Chinese detectivestyle fiction, combining writing techniques of western detectivestyle fiction, the writer GaoLuopei makes these mysteries inherit and develop traditional Chinese detectivestyle fiction. Through combination of writing models of Chinese and western detective novels, Judge Dee Mysteries enjoys a wide prestige over the world as it publishes. This paper explores narrative features of GaoLuopei by comparing writing models of Chinese and western detective novels.
