Abstract:Pamuk is a writer of cultural hybridity, the love stories of Pamuk are a kind of kitsch narrative, therefore, the protagonists in Pamuk’s novels are unnecessary and marginal. All these accepted opinions and blanks provide us with a path to more deeply understand Pamuk, i.e., what on earth has Pamuk found when he pursues the melancholy soul of his hometown? What is the “new symbol between cultural clash and interlacing”? This is a problem without an answer in both internal and abroad academic circle till today. Actually, it is just in our misreading and criticism of Pamuk’s love narrative and protagonists.
