Abstract:Andre Bazin was a guider of modern film theory in post war time in France, his theory lays a foundation for film theory after World War II and further clearly demonstrates the development direction of the global films. The two peaks in classical film theories are composed of documentary film theory created in Ontology of Photographic Image greatly contributed by Bazin and Montage’s film theory. The two parts of Bazin’s documentary film theory such as Ontology of Graphic Image and Linguistic Evolution of Films in detail explained film ontology in artistic history viewpoint and under unique expounding logic and illustrated the relationship between film ontology and film language evolution, both of them have very unique expounding logic and framework.
