In recent years, group events in colleges and universities usually happen, which become a serious problem in affecting the stability of colleges and universities. This paper collects almost one year group events cases in colleges and universities, and analysis finds that there is obvious law about the group events in happening time and related issues. Based on the characteristics analysis, this paper discusses the motive for the group events to happen from the perspective of collective action theory and proposes such responding strategies as examining the appeal of the students from the sense of being deprived, analyzing the psychology of the students from the perspective of society and culture and normalizing the connecting channel between the supervisors and the students from system.
