There are a variety of popular words in the epigraphs of Northem Wei Dynasty, Which play an important role in the research on Chinese Character. This paper made a study on the types of nonstandard forms of Chinese characters of inscriptions and classified them into six types: changing ideographic character, changing phonographic character, increasing ideographic character, simplifying, complicating and changing structure.
