    Abstract:

Language is the phenomenon of the society, so inevitably it reflects the people’s social values and their mode of thinking. People have realized that as the carrier of the culture, language has existed sexism. In English and Chinese languages, the position of the male is obviously higher than that of the female. Women are in a weak, subsidiary and discriminative position. This article discusses the sexism shown in the English and Chinese languages from seven aspects, and from the standpoint of the society it reveals and analyzes the causes of the phenomenon. It tries to find out a method to change the phenomenon to create a harmonious society.
