Freud once indicated “Oedipus Complex” is a common psychological complex of human beings. The key to the normal growth of boys lies in the fact they get rid of "Oedipus Complex" because of Castration Anxiety. Definitely this has a very close tie with the role of mothers in construction of relations between mothers and sons. This paper first makes a deep analysis of the similar mentalities of two mothers and the causes under the deep repression from patriarchy in the two novels Sons and Lovers and Tale of Golden Lock. On basis of this, this paper dissects that Empty House State of Mothers’ Soul and mothers’ initiative is the decisive factor for son’s serious “Oedipus Complex”.
