Abstract:What must be concerned is that,in contrast to the overall size of the floating population declining in recent years, the number of the elderly floating population continues to rise.“The Old Drifters”are a new floating group of the elderly formed under the double pressures of aging and floating population in recent years, and they are also a special group in the life cycle of Chinese family.Taking urban adaptation of“the Old Drifters”as the research object,it is found that their adaptive behavior, family relationship, community environment and government policy support are the main factors affecting their adaptation degree, among which the heterogeneity between“rural-urban mobility”and“city-urban mobility”caused by different household registers is greater.Based on the social adaptation theory and social support theory, this paper proposes to reconstruct the social support network in the areas to where the“the Old Drifters”migrate, requiring the cooperation and co-governance among themselves, families, communities and the government, the four links promote each other and support each other and all help“the Old Drifters”to better adapt the life to which they migrate.
