Abstract:American scholars use the theory of social information processing to develop children’s interpersonal communication abilities,and the group intervention curriculum achieved good results.In Tianjin and Jingyang,Shaanxi Province,Chinese scholars respectively used social information processing theory to provide group intervention services for children’s interpersonal communication ability,and achieved fruitful results.However,the applicability of social information processing theory to the interpersonal communication ability of children in low socioeconomic status families in China remains to be tested.In the S Primary School of Yangzhou City,the authors use the social information processing theory to design a group intervention program for the children in difficulty with low economic status.The intervention had achieved obvious intervention effect in interpersonal communication cognition,interpersonal communication technology and emotional management,as well as the improvement of interpersonal communication ability.The intervention effect shows that the social information processing theory has the same applicability to the children in low socioeconomic status families in China.
