In order to realize the general description of turnoverintention among Chinese social workers and to test the scientificity of a threedimension “individualprofession/organizationfamily” model in attempting to explain Chinese social workers’turnover inclination, based on survey data (n=3111) collected by “China General Survey on Professional Social Workers”,this study is one of the few empirical studies that used a national data to explore social workers’ turnover intention in China. The results show that 19.6% of social workers have considered leaving the profession, which indicate that Chinese social workers turnover intention status is not optimistic.A hierarchical regression reveals that factors of individual level, professional organization level and family level have respective contributions to turnover intention, which indicate that this threedimension model is a scientific and promising model to explain Chinese social workers’ turnover intention. This model expands the western individualorganization model, and embodies the important influence of family factor in eastern culture on the turnover intention of social workers. The findings of this study also have practical implication for organization management to reduce Chinese social workers’ turnover intention.
