Abstract:In the pasted several decades, China’s palliative care service mainly covers adults and the aged but seldom cares for children. Providing care service for the end of life of children is not only the result of developed society, economy and civilization but also is the need of developed human beings and is the best embodiment of the present mainstream thoughts emphasizing service quality and patient right. Taking social work practice for palliative care in Shanghai children as an example, this paper introduces the difference in the service for palliative care between an adult and a child, firstly relatively holistically introduces nine service contents such as disease management, physiological care, psychological care, social care, spiritualism care, development care, practical activity care, death preparation and grievance assistance for social work practice in end of life care for children, relatively overall classifies six basic processes such as service evaluation, information sharing, decision making, plan making, implementation interference and case evaluation for palliative care of children, analyzes and discusses the basic problems specially needed in social work practice in end of life care for children and systematically summarizes social work service models in end of life care for China localized children.
