Abstract:As a typical form of contemporary revival of the utopian spirit in the 20th Century, psychological utopianism, under the premise of acknowledging human various kinds of desires, emphasizes the elimination of external coercive repression to meet the instinctive desire, then perfected personality model is shaped so that human society is transformed in the end. Moreover, it has an important view that whether human psyche is health or not is related to whether human beings can have real happy future. In the perspective of considering the relationship between human self and society, there are four basic theoretical characteristics in “psychological utopianism”: first, it highlights the social and cultural significance of an “inner transformation”, second, it argues for an interconnection between the structure of personality and the structure of society, third, it claims that individual psychopathologies reflect the pathogenicity of society, forth, it stresses the importance of the factors of human irrationality and subconciousness in revolution, and all of these above are really demonstrated in the thoughts of Reich, a Marxist, of Freud.
