The author supposes that besides the weak power of the discipline itself, another important reason is that we have not found the proper research targets or we have not set up a platform of interdisciplinary research. The network of things constructs a brand new field of communication from material world to human society. The connection of disaster early warning with crisis communication in the earthquake of Japan is an interdisciplinary research issue based on the network of things.
