Taking the progenitor of A Dream of Red Mansions and its revised two TV drama programs as an example, this paper discusses “Appropriate Principle”, experience and lessons in the revision of Chinese classical masterpiece films and videos in the perspective of version selection, theme conception, plot layout, narration method, artistic style, figure creation and so on.
