The local customs such as Flower-drum Plays with Stepping on Bridge, the singing words of Stepping on Bridge subtly matching the ceremony of Stepping on Bridge, and so on among minority chinese along Youshui valley at the border of Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan and Guizhou have seldom been known by outside and have not been sufficiently studied, collated, protected and developed. Based on the customs, this paper introduces the local Flower-drum Plays, studies their cultural dissemination and sort-out in media and information field, aesthetic and spiritual enjoyment, feeling resonance, psychological persuasion and calmness, ethic education and guidance, ideological consciousness and enlightenment, celebration of birthday and happy events, helping each other and cohesion of the people there, ceremony offering sacrifice to gods and ancestors, ceremony praising heroes and good things, custom evolution, seeking help in difficulty, dating and loving, marriage, and witchcraft in evilly conferring titles and cursing among minority Chinese in west Hunan, west Hubei, northeast Guizhou and Chongqing.
