Abstract:Eileen Zhang’s “craziness” towards The Dream of Red Mansions and its research are the non-academic underlying meaning of her academic work, Nightmare in the Red Chamber. The commonness between her scholar characteristics and Xueqin Cao’s is deeply rooted in their sense of “World’s End” in common. Inheriting The Dream of Red Mansions’s deductive style towards the essence of tragedy, Eileen Zhang deemed comment and study on The Dream of Red Mansions as indirect expressive texts, eliminating her sense of tragedy towards the epoch and human nature. Eileen Zhang’s Nightmare in the Red Chamber provides us with a brand-new perspective of the analysis on herself together with her works.
