| The May Fourth Movement around 1919 opened Ba Jin’s eyes to a stormy outside world, and furnished him with anarchism, whose ideas and ideals played in tune with Ba’s personality. And from then on, Ba Jin, with his translator’s pen gripping in hand, set out in fight for his ideal—anarchism through all the coming political ups and downs till the end of his mortal life. |
