| Although Chateaubriand’s representative work “Mémoire d′outre tombe” has exerted profound influence on all posterity, people hold different comments on the book and controversial views on the author himself. A unique perspective has been presented in the epic like autobiographical great book. Through the analysis on the personal experiences and important events narrated by the author, the character, Chateaubriand, who wanders between sincerity and hypocrisy, sensibility and reasonableness, being republic or being conservative, could be shown. |
