| Thanks to its unique geographic location and culture background, Three Gorges has been a hot topic for men of literature and writing to continuously chant it since ancient times. Besides the geographic, symbolical and cultural features of common geographic names mentioned in ancient poems on Three Gorges, there is peculiar feature in the geographic names in Three Gorges. As a result, more or less, there is imagery loss in the English translation of classic poetry about Three Gorges caused by shallow translation, mistranslation and non equivalent translation. |
