| JiangCun Economy, whose English name is Peasant Life in China, was Fei Xiaotong′s doc- toral thesis, which was written in 1938 at University of London.According to the survey of east Chi- na and Kaixiangong Village at south bank of Tai Lake, Fei Xiaotong described the system of Chinese peasants′consumption, production, distribution and trade and so on in order to explain the relation- ship between this economic system and specific geographic environment and social structure of the community. This book was published in England in 1939, its miniature community study has initiated a new chapter of the cultural anthropology, and it was included in International Sociological Collec- tion. |
