Abstract:In view of the fact that the stress-strain curves obtained from static compression tests of cushioning materials were mostly non-linear and were not easy to converge in piecewise fitting,a method of piecewise fitting of stress-strain curves by using three cubed Bezier curve was proposed.From this,the cushioning coefficient could be deduced,and then the cushioning coefficient-maximum stress parameter equation could be obtained.Based on three cubed Bezier curve,the design process from the beginning of cushioning material test to the end of cushioning packaging design was proposed. And the software framework of computer aided cushioning packaging design three cubed Bezier curve was discussed. According to the static compression stressstrain curve of new material,the cushioning coefficient-maximum stress parameter equation could be obtained by the software. And the processed data was added to existing material. When using existing materials for cushioning packaging design,only equivalent drop height H,product fragility G,product weight W (or product surface area S) could be input to obtain the area A and thickness T of the cushion,which greatly improved the efficiency of cushioning packaging design.
