Taking Chongqing as an example, this article, by using the grey correlation analysis methods, researches the relationship of economic growth, energy consumption structure and carbon emissions, separately from the static, dynamic and the overall perspective. The results of the study show that, coal consumption is the main inducement which has increased carbon dioxide emissions in Chongqing city, secondly it is the rapid growth of the third industry. Therefore, to slow down the speed of carbon dioxide emissions in Chongqing, we must start form improving energy consumption structure.
