In view of environmental uncertainty in the process of decisionmaking and the limitation of human knowledge, the scholars propose hesitant fuzzy language which can describe the uncertainty of decision-making information and accurately reflect the hesitant fuzzy language with the preference of decision makers. Firstly, the related literatures of the studies on hesitant fuzzy language in recent years in the perspective of the related concepts, operation rules, comparison rules, distance measurement, operator, multi-criteria decision-making method and so on based on fuzzy language are reviewed, then multi-criteria decision-making method based on hesitant fuzzy language is applied to real life, and the relevant application fields of the hesitant fuzzy language are given, which indicate that the research on hesitant fuzzy language not only has theoretical significance but also has real significance. Finally, the future of hesitant fuzzy language is prospected and it is pointed out that hesitant fuzzy language needs to combine new fields at the era of big data and cloud computation.
