Through the illustration design visual language form element and the formal form element application principle choice discussion and the illustration creation design practice, the key to the success of illustration design is the application of visual language form elements and principles. Through the illustration design of "Mountain City Porter", the regional culture is displayed and the influence of regional culture is expanded. By taking the illustration design and creation process of "Mountain City Porter" and the interpretation of schema culture as an example, this paper analyzes the elements of visual language form, the principles of its application and the design intention of illustration design. We have entered into the era of map reading, graphic reading has become a way for people to accept things, illustrations are designed in a variety of languages, and the use of formal language elements and the principle of factor combination are the most important links in creating illustrations.
