Abstract:This paper mainly makes classification research on social science periodicals of Sichuan Province with different influencing factors (IF) during 2011—2015, and the research shows that the influencing factors have Matthew Effect with high IF becoming more high and low IF becoming more low and have the impact on such four aspects as periodical running trend, author behavior, multiple subjects development and national scientific research power, which foster the tendency of periodicalrunner’s “only for influencing factors”, which misguide the researchers’ academic research direction and manuscript contribution selection, which extrude the living space of noncoreperiodicals, and which restrict multidisciplinary development and the improvement of national scientific research power because academic results at supplyside are also dominated by the Matthew Effect. If continuing, these trends are not conducive to the ecological balance of periodical field and are not helpful to the health development of academic research. Based on that, this paper proposes a periodical evaluation system fitting for multidisciplinary academic development to eliminate the Matthew Effect of IFs.
