According to the situation that although presently Chongqing’s traditional folk architecture heritage, protection and development get some supports from governments, real measures are always lagging behind so that many courtyards built in Ming and Qing Dynasties do not get well-protection, rational plan and healthy development. Through the survey and examination on Wangshui Ancient Town, an active carrier of farming cultural essence and details in east Sichuan Province, the traditional architecture culture of the inhabitants of the towns can be continued by learning the successful cases on ancient town protection at home and abroad and by combining the real situation to reconstruct the ancient town’s holistic protection and development.
