Based on the survey on the development status quo of visual communication major in part of colleges and universities of Chongqing, this paper explores the new path suiting for cultivating model of innovative talents in the general visual communication major in the colleges and universities of Chongqing in order to help the teaching reform, and builds the ways for suiting the major innovation development by setting up innovative teaching method, course modularization, hierarchical teaching method, and cooperation mechanism between universities and enterprises between intermajor and interdisciplinary. The research proves that the undergraduate talent cultivation model of multiabilityspecifictransboundary” based on “visual communication design+” idea is not only suiting the demand of the social employment, but also bring into full play the intelligence potential of the students and can really provide design service and intelligent support for local economic construction.
