Abstract:Aspirin was synthesized through O-acylating reaction from salicylic acid and acetic anhydride. The catalysts, the molar ratio of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride, reaction time and reaction temperature were explored by orthogonal experiment. The results show that optimal conditions of aspirin synthetsis, when anhydrous sodium carbonate as catalyst, and the dosage is 4% of salicylic acid, the molar ratio of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride was 1:2, reaction time was 15 minutes, reaction temperature was 65 ℃, the aspirin yield was up to 83.33%. The method has advantage of simplification, economy, no pollution and good quality of product. It is suitable for industrial producing.
