通过对富兰克林写《富兰克林自传》的写作动因的分析,考察了富兰克林所要表达的思想本意或主张,认为写作动因凸显《富兰克林自传》的教育功能,并以此为出发点从两个方面——自我之"本"和本立之"道"进行分析,表明富兰克林的思想意图或主题。
