分析了美国著名剧作家尤金.奥尼尔的早期作品《榆树下的欲望》中的人物所具有的相当复杂的性格结构。从人道主义伦理学家埃.弗洛姆关于人的不同类型的性格取向与个人和家庭幸福的关系理论的角度,探讨该剧中人物悲剧的根源,揭示在当前时代背景下重读《榆》的现实意义。
