介绍了SolidEdge中的实体特征分类和机械零件特征识别与提取的常规方法与过程，对如何提取Solidedge零件特征信息、几何信息及其处理程序进行了研究，提出了应用程序访问Solidedge特征库的两种模式；并以SolidEdge中的零件为例，通过VB语言设计应用程序，成功提取SolidEdge下零件的特征及几何信息，这些信息保存在数据库中，下游的CAPP、CAM系统可直接使用。
