Abstract:Based on the national strategic positioning of the construction of Chengdu and Chongqing double-city economic circle, how to build an important growth pole of high-quality development in the western region of China as soon as possible is not only an important theoretical issue to adhere to the new development concept and accelerate the coordinated development of the region, but also an important practical issue to build a strategic highland of inland opening up. The selection of strategic complementary areas in Chengdu and Chongqing areas is of great significance to coupling dynamic mechanism and overcoming the difficulty in its realization. This paper analyzes the strength and direction of economic ties between the cities in Chengdu and Chongqing areas and the cities in neighboring provinces through the improved spatial gravity model of urban economic ties, membership degree of economic ties and network spatial structure. It is found that the economic integration of Sichuan, Chongqing and Guizhou plays a more important role in supporting the economic circle of the double cities than that of the Western Triangle Economic Zone, and Guizhou is very important to the coordinated development of Chengdu and Chongqing. According to the above conclusions, this paper puts forward policy suggestions from the perspective of policy mechanism, industrial development, ecological greening and high-quality development to promote the formation of regional economic layout with complementary advantages and high-quality development.
