At new era, the high-quality development of China’s economy must adhere to new development idea. The city agglomeration is the main carrier for regional coordinated development, and the pattern of cities and towns must be set up by constructing big, medium and small cities with the coordinated development based on the subject of city agglomeration. Since the reform and open-up, with the perfecting of socialism market economy system, Chengdu-Chongqing city agglomeration rapidly develops, becomes more and more mature and has become one of the city groups on which Chinese Government lays the emphasis, however, its integration development extent needs to be boosted, the competition between different city groups is bigger than cooperation. There is big potential in the perspective of responding to new development ideas, implementing development plans and so on. Thus, Chengdu-Chongqing city agglomeration should actively explore the paths and measures by intergrowth development, cooperated decision-making, cooperated mechanism, cooperated connotation and double-win style cooperation so as to effectively improve the endogenous development capacity and development quality.
