Abstract:Organizational misbehavior is the passive behavior harmful to the organization or other employees, and the producing of the passive behavior of the employees is closely related to how the leaders deal with the employees. This study explores the relationship between ethical leadership and organization misbehavior by the questionnaire survey including 502 employees in the public institutions of China, and emphatically analyzes its intermediary mechanism. The research results show that ethical leaders are significantly negatively related to the misbehavior of the employees but are obviously positively related to organization identification, that organization identification is significantly negatively related to organization misbehavior, that the more ethical the leaders manifest, the higher the organization identification of their employees is, and that organization identification partly play intermediary role in organization misbehavior mechanism affected by ethical leadership. The correlation between the employees of impression management and organization misbehavior is stronger than that of the employees of low impression employees, and impression management has an adjusting effect on the negative correlation between ethical leadership and organization misbehavior. The organization identification and impression management tendency of the employees should be consolidated via ethical leadership behavior so as to avoid the producing of organization misbehavior.
