Abstract:Currently, spatial economics is at the stage which heroes spring up everywhere, and has different research directions and research methods so that the scholars are difficult to reach consensus on research methodologies, which bring big perplexity to initial learners and which make against deepening and popularizing of spatial economics research. This paper aims to simplify foregone complex theoretical deduction process of the literature to extract some hypotheses, theories, principles and methods from the literature which can be accepted by scholars in order to promote spatial economics to be integrated into main economics. The basic research pattern of spatial economics is to use Iceberg technique to analyze a spatial dynamic evolution process among factors, industries and trade by setting the premise such as yield increase and initial region symmetry and so on, based on the principle of utility maximization and profit maximization, by following product diversification theory and monopolistic competition theory and under D-S analysis framework. Spatial economics research pattern can be extended from three directions such as spatial-dimension traditional economics, spatial empirical economics and spatial welfare economics.
