Abstract:Based on the comparative analysis of the rate of labor force participating in work between Xinjiang and all China, the author finds that the rate is obviously lower than the national level and makes analysis of the cause for this rate. The result shows that, besides all macro economic factors, the special child--bearing policy in minority areas of Xinjiang, which is high-- ratio of young children, and the traditional ideology that small richness is enough and that lacks competition have close relation to the lower working participation rate of Xinjiang people.
