Based on the review of urban-rural relationship in terms of an economic dualism theory of division of labor based on departments and a dual economic theory of division of labor based on geography,this paper attempts to present a comprehensive theoretical framework which connects economy,society,institution and market in order to guide China's overall development between urban and rural areas.
