Since the beginning of the 21st century, the central government has successively launched a series of regional development strategies for the development of Chengdu-Chongqing region, making Chengdu-Chongqing region present a unique development process. The construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle aims to explore the coordinated development of dual-core city cluster in the new era, provide important guidance for the implementation of the new development concept in the new era, and promote the formation of a new pattern of the development of the west regions in the new era. At present, the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing city cluster, the construction of new land-sea corridors in the west, the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the construction of the "Belt and Road" can provide dynamic support for the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. On this basis, policies should be designed around the construction of the new development pattern of "double circulations" to promote the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle by actively implementing “two central sites” strategic positioning of Chengdu and Chongqing.
