Overall urban - rural devel opment is the core task of Chengdu - Chongqing Experi mental Zone . After making comprehensive quantitative analysis and evaluati on on overall urban - rural devel opment level of Chengdu during 2001 - 2005, this paper finds that overall urban - rural devel opment level of 19 districts and counties of Chengdu City shows a center - out ward gradientdistribution and that the economic status of each district and county which belong t o developed urban economic circle shows rising trends and that the economic status of each district and countywhich are far from main city is relatively declining and that the districts and countieswhich have relatively big declining range are Longquanyi District, Qingbaijiang District, Pixian County, Pujiang County and ChongzhouMunici pality .
